The Rules of Capture the Flag
The Object of the game: To Capture the opposing team's flag, and bring it back to your Flag point.
Players: at least 2 teams of 3, possibly more teams and/or players per teams.
Terms:
- CTF: A short form for the Game Capture The Flag.
- Players: anyone activly participating in the game
- Guard: a player who has been assigned the role of "Guard", in which they must stay by their teams flag, and defend it from attacks by the opposing team(s), untill releived by another member of their team. They are allowed to carry radios or other long-range communication devices
- Captured: When a player is touched twice, or tackled (depending on the rules set forth by all players) they have been captured. they must then go back to their Spawn Point.
- Neutral Zone: an area between opposing teams zones in which anyone may be captured by anyone, and inter-team meetings take place.
- Team's Zone: An area around a teams spawn and Flag points, as determined by the players before the game begins.
- Scout: A player who is charged with the opposing territory and spying on the opponents. They are allowed to carry radios or other long-range communications equipment.
- Team Captain: The Leader of a team. cannot be captured in the neutral zone. must wear a distiguishing object to show his/her status. They are allowed to carry radios or other long-range communication devices. a Tema may only have one Team captain at a time, but the appointment of Team Captain may be given to another player at any time, as long as the new team captain is given the distinguishing object.
The Flag: The flag can be anything, froma football, to an actual flag, but the object that is the target to be captured is always reffered to as "The Flag"
Hiding The Flag: The Flag may be hidden anywhere in the play area, as long as it is mostly in plain sight.
Spawn Points: The spawn point for a team is where every player accept for one guard begins the game, and must return to if captured.
Flag Points: The Flag point is where a teams flag must be stored. It must be marked in some way that the players will agree upon before the game begins. This is also the place where an opposing team's flag must be returned to in order to win the game.
Allowed Equipment: Radios and communications devices are only allowed to be acrried by Team Captains, scouts, and guards. also, a team may not have more than 4 radio/communication devices in their possesion at any one time. Knives, hatchets and other cutting tools are allowed, but must never be used to harm another player. They may be used to build things to help a team, or to cut oneself loose from bindings, or to destroy opposing objects (only ones made by the team during the game). Rope, tape, and other bindings are allowed, but may be banned from a game by the players at any time. Paintball guns and other weaponry are strictly banned from any Capture the flag game, but this rule may be overlooked if the game is in a regulated area for these objects, and every player wears the corect protection equipment.
Winnning the game: When a player brings the opposing team's flag back to their team's Flag point, their team has won the game.
